Is it Stress or PMS? (week two journal prompts)
Self-heal your hormones by feeling strong(er) amidst the challenges of life.
Don’t worry, about a thing.
Easier said than done, Bob Marley.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a carefree life with no financial strains, health problems or career worries?
It’d be pretty great if you could just eat whatever the f*ck you want & not worry about how you’re actually just coping with the stress of everything by stuffing your mouth with another cookie.
ORRR (and this one really takes the cake), life would be sooooo much better if you could just put the phone down and stop watching other people live their best life?!?
In this week’s Masterclass, Why You’re Cranky & Weepy before your Period, I mentioned that stress is a big factor in throwing your hormones off-kilter.
But it’s sorta like what came first? The chicken or the egg?
In today’s guided journaling session, I encourage you to take some time to reflect on your relationship with stress & how it impacts your menstrual and mental health.
The biggest game changer that helped me reduce my PMS from two weeks of misery to a few hours of feeling “off”…. was reframing my experience of stress.
So let’s get into it, shall we?
1. What has been overwhelming you this week?
I kept trying to write this article / journal prompt guide for you & just couldn’t push through.
Every time I sat down to write, I would end up doing something else instead.
It wasn’t that I was procrastinating this writing piece, but more so that the other areas of my life felt big, scary & uncertain.
What I ended up doing was give voice to the scared, inner child inside of me who didn’t feel safe enough to do the big girl things that life demanded of me.
Through my reflections, I noticed my need for everything to be perfect.
Perhaps putting pen to paper will help you better understand why you’re resorting to unhealthy coping mechanisms like doom scrolling or binge eating.
